Contested Divorce

Considering Divorce?

Unfortunately, sometimes marital relationships just don't work out. Finances. Growing apart. Infidelity. Irreconcilable differences. Whatever the reason it happens. Gill & Associates represents individuals seeking a dissolution of marriage. We offer assistance for both contested and uncontested divorces, with or without children. Which divorce is right for you?

If you and your spouse can agree on how to divide property and resolve all child-related issues, you may be able to file an uncontested divorce petition in the Superior Court of your county. We can help you with the process and hopefully relieve some of the stress and anxiety you are experiencing. We can provide reasonably priced legal services to help you get an uncontested divorce.

With uncontested divorces, we provide two options:

Option 1 - "Pro Se" Document Preparation: You can proceed with your case PRO SE, and represent yourself in court. We can prepare the documents you need to get your divorce, and give you consultation on how to proceed. You will file the documents in court, and appear before the court pro se to finalize your divorce. We will be available throughout your divorce for consultation until the end.

"Pro Se" divorces start from $350.00 for uncontested divorces without children, and from $500.00 for uncontested divorces with children.

Option 2 - ATTORNEY REPRESENTATION: We can prepare your paperwork, file your divorce, AND appear with you in court to finalize your divorce. We will be available throughout your divorce for consultation until the end. Legal fees start at $750.00 for attorney representation.

Unfortunately, sometimes a marriage breaks down and a couple cannot amicably resolve all issues. Unlike in an uncontested divorce, sometimes the couple cannot come to an agreement about issues such as child support, child custody and visitation, division of property, division of assets and accounts, division of investments, division of debt, and spousal support. At this point, these issues must be resolved by mediation or at a trial for some or all of these issues.

During a contested divorce, competent legal representation is important. You child custody or visitation rights could be greatly affected without proper representation. You may end up paying more than or receiving less than your fair share of child support. Your rights to your fair allotment of marital property may be lost.

We offer aggressive legal representation and personalized service to clients considering or facing a contested divorce throughout Metro Atlanta. We aren't afraid to stand up for your rights and what you believe is right in order to protect you and your family. We are experienced trial attorneys and have successfully fought for our clients fair stake in the dissolution of the marriage.
